Rusty brown with abundance of white and streaks of black on back tail and wings. Look for white wing patches.

Habitat:

Prairie,field areas as winter range, migrates to tundra in summer months

Notes:

Ground feeding species, often feeding at backyard bird feeders. Eats miscellaneous seeds.
