Banded Demoiselle

Calopteryx splendens

Description:

This species is very variable. Generally males are blue with dark bands on wings while females are green with clear wings. Some females have bands on the wings also but females always have a white pterostigma while males have none. These all have greenish bodies and no pterostigma so I assume are all males.

Habitat:

Riverside bushes
