Wagtail

Motacilla flava

Description:

Typical tail wagging and restless running behaviour. However, only one bird of the pair has a yellow face. Maybe it is the male.

Habitat:

There was this paved drain alongside a new highway and just outside a newly made open air picnic area in Kolkata, India. A pair of these birds was foraging on the slope of the green verge leading to the busy highway.

Notes:

Little confused about whether this is Yellow or Citrine Wagtail. Going with Yellow. Happy to be corrected. The taxonomy has been recently restructured.Plus there is hybridization. http://www.oiseaux-birds.com/card-wester... Migratory...winter visitor to India. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Yell...
