Alder Leaf Beetle (larvae)

Agelastica alni

Description:

Tiny little larve/beetle creatures, fully black and glossy, some hairs on the body, if you look very closely you can see they have little black heads and little black legs, looking a lot like caterpillars.

Habitat:

Seen in woodland undergrowth on large leaf foliage.

Notes:

I am sure that these are Alder leaf beetle larvae... although the distribution does not seem to include Africa... but they are all the world like them, I cannot find anything else.
