Mason Wasp

Leptochilus sp.

Description:

Small, gorgeous wasp with black and red abdomen. It was approximately 4 mm long. There is white banding along some edges of the abdomen and thorax. The sides of the thorax are silver and the face is gold. This is probably just the lighting but is very pretty.

Habitat:

Buckwheat in chaparral
