Description:

This unusual fungus (slime mold?) created a ring in our yard after a few days of wet weather. In the second photo, you can see the ring, with the left side having been mowed, the white spores having been knocked off, and leaving a dark section of ring (see third photo for close-up). I have never seen such a thing made by mold.
