Swamp Milkweed

Description:

Grows 2-4 ft. tall, deep pink floral clusters on tall branches with narrow, opposite, lance shaped leaves.

Habitat:

Area is a gated man-made lake community, surrounded by rural agricultural land, and some deciduous forest areas. In areas that are not mowed, the land is old fields within the community, and are mowed biannually. I'm not a plant expert and not sure what has caused the unusual dark red coloration of the leaves.
