Description:

Medium sized hawk with a white front and underneath, with a band of darker mottled feathers across the chest. Relatively short, wide tail.

Habitat:

Along an inland fresh-water canal in western Boca Raton, FL.

Notes:

This individual perched on the dead limbs of a tall tree and surveyed the area.
