Mottled Cup Moth Caterpillar

This cup moth caterpillar had all its spikes out so I had to capture this.

Habitat:

Spotted on a gum tree in a nature reserve

Notes:

This caterpillar has been posted as spotting several times - I am sorry but I could not resist all the colours & sunshine ! No more of this from me... Family: Limacodidae

Well Martin, since I first saw these caterpillars in your spotting, I can't stop taking photos of them. This one was irresistible with the spikes in the sun and dark tips outlined against the white blur in the background.

wow, I'd feel much more comfortable id this photo was less well focused.
