A lovely beetle!

Paropsis bella

Description:

Bellissima! Or actually, bellissio, for this is a male, indicated by its longer antennae. Some leaf beetles are scarce and this colorful specimen has been on my wish list for two years and required searching in higher branches of alpine gums.

Habitat:

Manna type gums .

Notes:

We searched for this species for ages. What a reward! Bella means beautiful.

Thanks Christiane.
This one is only Victoria and NSW.
We've had to go to the mountains because beetles are scarce during mid summer.
