Fungus

Description:

This white fungus was growing in a shallow depression on a gravel substrate. It looks like it may fill with rain water frequently. It was about 6 cm in diameter. While it looks soft and frothy, it was actually hard and textured when viewed up close.

Habitat:

Shore line area of Lake Catemaco, Veracruz, Mexico.
