Yellow Admiral

Vanessa itea

Description:

This is a butterfly I spotted while on a walk today. It has since been identified by a helpful commenter as a Yellow Admiral, which are common throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Habitat:

Yellow Admirals are usually found in relatively damp areas of vegetation, such as the banks of rivers and creeks, gullies, glens and suburban gardens.
