Limacodidae spp.
Thanks Fred for you help and as Mark said .. No need to apologize. It is great to have so many nature friend helping each other. :)
Not a problem Fred.. no apologies necessary. That is what this site is about... most of us are not professionals here and we all learn from this process. I laugh when I look back on my old suggestions and comments. Keep the good ideas coming. :)
Christiane, I would like to apologize for the mistake of the information that ended up leading you astray too. On the other hand I am glad that this has generated new ideas and brought new knowledge. As we know, humanity has developed over mistakes and successes being so today. I am sure that we go one step. I hope you understand. And to Mark, thank you for this lesson.
No luck yet :( Too many not described but similar. Most like the 'nettle' catties from SE Asia? Even your description has a different number and arrangement of 'projections' different coloured dorsal line, no side projections... I would stick with Limacodidae spp. for now.
I can't agree with the ID
No images of that larva match the horns and spines.
I'll look at it tomorrow.
