Caterpillar of Dead Head Hawkmoth

Acherontia lachesis

Description:

Found this striking and beautiful Caterpillar of Dead Head Hawkmoth on a guava tree on the road side in Maddela. Quite large, probably advance stage of Caterpullar, around 6 cm in length. It was doing a nice posture with the head curled towards the spiny tail, the spine on the tail has interesting details too.

Habitat:

Urban garden

Thanks, @Lauren.
Saw several of them, some were smaller and green in colours, probably the same species. But this one gave the nicest pose :)
