Description:

Seen flying for short distances along paths, deep in the forest. This one flew a meter or 2 ahead of me, then flew back behind me for a meter or 2, over and over. Hard to get close to it.

Habitat:

Deep in the Selva Negra cloud forest.

Confirmation of this butterflies' name would be greatly appreciated.

Think I'll go with Cithaerias pireta. It looks the same as the one I saw in Costa Rica, if I have named that one correctly !
Any other comments welcome

Thanks Jellis. I also looked at Pink Clearwing. Couldn't find one that really matched.
On a second look, Cithaerias pireta doesn't look too bad !

thanks Lauren, I think this little butterfly was playing with me. It kept flying around me, even when I moved on a couple of meters. It would settle on the leaf matter, but if I tried to get close to take a photo, off it would go, just out of range ! Eventually it tired and flew off into the undergrowth, but it was there in the same spot on the path, when I returned...

this looks like from the citherias family. Thought Pink Glasswing but it doesn't have the black markings. Hope this at least helps someone narrow it down.
