Beautiful!
Gorgeous!
incredible detail and beautiful series! :)
Sorry, I meant near threatened
Hi Mark. They are currently listed as not threatened and the damage to the national park was mostly inland bodies of sea water that never drained which created a few swamp regions of dead dry trees. The birds themselves are still popular in the islands because they tend to move around a bit. For example they fly off to smaller islands to roost where there are no predators. So ok for now and the park is ok to. Not much info on the net tho. Still hunted by people, the gall stone is used in jewellery and they are trapped for pets. That's how these ended up here in Africa I guess. But I can report that these little guys here are happy healthy and well looked after :)
Extraordinarily beautiful bird.
Do you know if they are recovering from the tsunami?
