Paroaria dominicana
It measures about 17.2 cm. Head feathers are red and short. The upper parts are gray. The former back has black feathers at the apex and white at the base. The rear back and upper wing coverts are stained black. The male has red darker head than the female. Young presents the tops in brown color and rusty throat.
It can be found in the Northeast and Southeast of Brazil in forest type savanna and river banks.
