Poças, lagos e lagoas pantanosas permanentes e temporárias cercadas de vegetação alta ou esparsa.

Permanent and temporary marshy ponds, pools and lakes surrounded by sparse or tall shoreline vegetation.

Notes:

Erythrodiplax é um gênero de libélulas popularmente conhecidas em inglês por "dragonlets" da superordem Odonatoptera, ordem Odonata, subordem Epipocrita, infraordem Anisoptera, superfamília Libelluloidea, família Libellulidae e subfamília Sympetrinae.

São normalmente vistas repousando sobre galhos com as asas caracteristicamente pendendo abaixo do corpo. Os machos são comumente vistos patrulhando lagos e algumas espécies protegem as fêmeas durante a oviposição. Seus habitats são lagoas, poças e lagos pantanosos temporários e permanentes cercados por vegetação alta ou esparsa. Ambas as larvas e os adultos são predadores generalistas e foram observados em campo como organismos-modelo para pesquisas comportamentais, ecológicas e evolucionárias.

ENGLISH VERSION HERE:

Erythrodiplax is a genus of skimmer dragonflies popularly known as "dragonlets" in the order Odonata, suborder Epipocrita, infraorder Anisoptera, superfamily Libelluloidea, family Libellulidae and subfamily Sympetrinae.

They are often found roosting on branches with wings characteristically depressed below the body. Males are often seen patrolling ponds and some species will protect females during oviposition. Their habitats are permanent and temporary marshy ponds, pools and lakes surrounded by sparse or tall shoreline vegetation. Both the larvae and the adults are generalist predators and have been observed on the field as model organisms for behavioral, ecological and evolutionary research.
