African Silverbill

Euodice cantans

Description:

Small passerine bird occurring in flocks. About 10 cm in length, a pale brown waxbill with a long black tail and rump. Bil blue-grey. Every time I saw them in groups, these were always lively, chattering and seemed liked playing.

Habitat:

This little finch is a common breeding resident of dry savannah in Sahel belt, and some other dry coins of Sub-Saharan Africa. These ones were seen at the periphery of a settlement, in a midst of Kanem region of Chad.
