Scarab

Description:

A really beautiful copper colored scarab with some purple and green metallic tinges on the prothorax and legs. There were large black spots on the elytra which was also punctate, The underbody hair was white. About 3 cm long. Family Scarabaeidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light. Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Soconusco area of southern Chiapas, Mexico. About 1 hour northeast of Tapachula.
