Suastus migreus

Description:

The Palm Bob, Suastus migreus Semper 1892 (Hesperiidae; Hesperiinae) is very similar in appearance to Suastus gremius Fabricius 1798, the Indian or Oriental Palm Bob. S. gremius occurs in India and other parts of SE Asia, and exists as ssp. S. gremius gremius in the Tawitawi and Palawan areas. While S. migreus is an endemic species, occurring across Philippine regions.

Habitat:

Spotted in the backyard at Biñan, Laguna, nectaring on Golden Dewdrop, Duranta erecta.
