Opisthoncus parcedentatus

Opisthoncus parcedentatus

Description:

Running around on a wattle (acacia) leaf. About 7mm long. Very fast and aware of it's greater surroundings. (Always darts to the other side of a leaf when danger is within 1 metre. )

Habitat:

On acacia leaf in heavily wooded parkland.

Notes:

No wonder it looked familiar.. also called 'Garden Jumping Spider'. This one is probably a male. Shades can vary somewhat - older spiders are generally darker. http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details... Distribution http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Opisthoncu... Thanks Atul for direction.
