A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Anolis sagrei
Brown anoles are brown to grayish in color, generally with whitish or yellowish patterning on the back. Males generally have an orange or red throat fan with a white edge.
Brown anoles are generally less arboreal (living in trees) than green anoles and are usually found on the ground or in low vegetation. Brown anoles thrive in almost any habitat and are often abundant in suburban or even urban areas. This specimen was observed on the frame of a outdoor whiteboard for an outdoor classroom of a charter school.
