I agree completely with Mr. Goldfish. The Ootheca is the correct shape for Tenodera sinensis as well. Carolina Mantis Ootheca look like this:

Nope, Chinese mantids. You can see in the photo that the ootheca and nymphs are different. And Stagmomantis carolina oothecae do not hatch that many nymphs and Stagmomantis carolina hatch out a few to several nymphs each day for a period of several days. Tenodera sinensis hatch out all at one time.
