A large leaf-like moth, imitating a dead leaf, about 3 cm long. Lonomia sp.? Saturniidae? (http://flickrhivemind.net/Tags/lonomia/I...)

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.

You're right. I'm far more familiar with North American species, but I didn't think any Lonomia species traveled that far north.

Thank you Thomas. I'm not sure about this one. Prochoerodes spp. all have angular hind wings and this one doesn't. It seems more like a Lonomia ?(Saturniidae) but I'm not sure. What do you think?
