Litoria aurea
Beautiful green bell frog, with gold stripes and spots on the dorsal and side surfaces. Fine dark stripe from the nostril to the eye and down behind the ear. Cream stripe from behind the eye, above the ear and down to the groin.
These animals seen in a wetland reserve at Lake Okareka near Rotorua in New Zealand North Island. Images taken at night and the frogs were all on Flax plants.
Although I have posted this species before. I took these and wanted to post them as part of International Frog Day. This species is now considered endangered (in some texts even critically endangered) in its homeland of Australia.

Thank you Dr. I was trying out a home made diffuser on my flash unit. Glad you like the results.
That's a clean shot!
Thank you Sunny. Enjoyed your PN members profile. Rob.
Good looking frog! Nice spotting triggsturner..!
Thank you Liana. They are doing well over here. Like a lot of Aussies they like to make a bit of noise and are a joy to hear through the summer nights ;)
It's nice to know these little critters are going strong in their adopted country :)
Thank you Ines. I really appreciate your comment.
beautiful pictures!
Hi Liana, you are most welcome. Although not a native to NZ, this little frog is doing well and has built a solid genetic bank here should populations completely crash on Oz.
Wonderful images Rob! Thank you for documenting this beautiful, endangered Green and Gold Bell Frog...Liana
