Two bees mating. I suspect the larger female below is the queen.

Habitat:

Right on path of Eastern Parkway and Bedford, Crown Heights, Brooklyn!

I'm fairly sure those are Giant resin bees (Megachile sculpturalis). They don't have the stocky build and fuzzy abdomen of bumble bees. They are an introduced pest in North America.
