Brick cup

Hypholoma lateritium

Description:

Though not sure completely (as I'm never with mushroom IDs), I believe that this Brick cup, Hypholoma lateritium, a.k.a. H. sublateritium... mainly because of color of its caps. Growing in tightly packed tufts, the convex honey-colored cap did not exceed 2cm in diameter. Stem naked, cream-whitish, bearing no ring. Gills pale greyish in color.

Habitat:

On a mixed forest floor, growing in dense tufts.

Notes:

Apparently edible but a bit bitter; some reports claim it's delicious when cooked or sauteed in olive oil...
