Orange Tortoise Beetle

Aspidimorpha westwoodi

Description:

About 2cm long and almost as wide, this chrysomelid is bright orange with black spots. Circling the body, is an extension of the cuticle which forms a translucent 'shield' around the beetle, and covering its head from above. The black spots continue onto the extension on four corners.

Habitat:

Found among pot plants in agricultural area with some patches of rainforest.
