Sandhill Milkweed/Purple Milkweed/ Pineywoods Milkweed

Asclepius humistrata

Description:

I know.. I've posted this species before... But this specimen was so gorgeous I had to do it again! This is a semi-prostrate milkweed with the surprising dusty pink and green leaves. That by itself is lovely! Add these dusty pink and white. Blooms and its irresistible! The largest I myself have seen has been about -7" long.

Habitat:

Sandhill and other well drained sunny Sandy habitats. This was in the Salt Springs Island area of the Ocala National Forest
