Stonefish

Description:

Mostly grey to brownish colours with blotches of white. They are well camouflaged among their surroundings. Although they can swim, most of the time they can be found 'crawling' slowly using their pectoral fins. They are ambush hunters, staying still and wait for their prey to come close or swim in front of them, they will then lunge forward and practically swallow their prey whole.

Habitat:

Mostly found around sandy bottom and coral rubbles
