Criteria:
- body more compact, harder than in Diabrotica;
- pronotum constricted in middle, no lined side border;
- head with sulci inbetween eyes;
- elytra usually with some puncture series.

Bayucca, my youngest brought me a beetle home form school just yesterday. They were learning about insects in class and had to catch some and look at them with a magnifying lens. She brought hers home to me - a beautiful glittery green weevil like this one:
