Brown Snake

Storeria dekayi

Description:

light brown with a pale stripe running down the middle of its back and has a row of small dark spots on its sides. The belly is whitish and often has black spots along its edges. Maybe 10 inches long

Habitat:

We have lots of these little snakes found in our urban school gardens hiding under rocks.

Notes:

We are happy for them to eat the slugs and snails in our gardens.
