Lunate Flat Bug

Dysodius lunatus

Description:

This specimen was found on a dead tree. The flat shape is an adaptation for life under or on the bark of dead trees where they feed on fungi. These insects are hard to spot because of their cryptic form and colour. I have seen it called Flat Fungus Bug of the Aradidae family. More info: https://books.google.co.cr/books?id=3CTf...

Notes:

Really hard to spot, I was actually trying to shoot a diferent species when this guy started to move, hence giving away it's location.
