House Sparrow (Female With Damselflies)

Passer domesticus

Description:

This was one of my favorite recent spottings. As I was exiting a local marshland park, I couldn't help but notice this little female House Sparrow jumping up and down with excitement in the grass. It wasn't until I got closer that I noticed that she had a beak full of damselflies - five of them to be exact!

Habitat:

Marshland Park (Wooded with Pond)

I'd have to agree! I still can't help but laugh when I remember her jumping up and down - looking like she won the lottery, which I guess she did!

I guess the babies are getting a good meal. She's a good hunter!
