I'm guessing some kind of trapdoor spider... About 18mm body length, black without any markings with very strong and thick first two pairs of legs; quite long spinnerets.
Found under a rock where it had a shallow burrow and a mess of fuzzy silk. Found in "El Cimatario" national park, in a semi-arid region with low scrub and, acacias and cacti. After first strong rains of the rainy season.

Hey shebebusynow, I'm not actually sure about the species... It would seem that mostly the males wonder out in search of females, and I did find this one after 1st rains. I found it under a rock, though, where it seemed to be settled. Needs more research.
Seems like trapdoor spiders would pretty much stay in their lair. Do the males of this species go walkabout looking for a mate just after the first rains? Seems it works that way around here.
Thanks, Felipe! Defo the family, perhaps Euagrus genus. Need to do some more research, though.
