White Lantana

Lantana camara

Description:

Lantana camara is a species of flowering plant in the verbena family, Verbenaceae, that is native to the American tropics. It has been introduced into other parts of the world as an ornamental plant and is considered an invasive species in many tropical and sub-tropical areas.

Habitat:

This Lantana was spotted roadside near a creek at Upper Flagstone. I was amazed to see how invasive this species is and how it seems to flourish everywhere.

Notes:

The main varieties of Lantana flowers - http://www.daff.qld.gov.au/__data/assets... Lantana is a Class 3 declared pest plant under Queensland legislation and a Weed of National Significance (WONS).
