Libellula depressa
Broad-bodied Chaser (also known as Broad-bodies Darter) is a very common european dragonfly, with a broad, flattened abdomen brown with yellow patches down the sides. Male (portrayed) develops a blue pruinosity (dust-looking layer) that covers the brown colour of abdomen. Both sexes sport large dark patches at the base of each wing, and the wingspan is about 7-8 cm.
Broad-bodied Chaser is a very common european dragonfly, seen on sunny spots around stagnating water points (ponds and small lakes). Here, seen in a small Natural Reserve (RN Colovrex) at the outskirts of our small town.
