Shining Leaf Chafer

Callistethus marginatus

Description:

Perhaps a small flower beetle? About 1cm in length, rust red/brown with yellow outline on thorax and first segment of legs. Depending on the light, a faint green sheen was visible. Came to the hut attracted by the lights at night.

Habitat:

Rainforest in Emiliano Zapata, near the "Selva Lacandona".

I see what you mean about the sheen of green. That's neat. Your photos capture that well. Reminds me of that colour changing dress a few years ago. Your descriptions are very good. Sorry, can't help with the name though :)
