Greek stream frog (Ελληνικός βάτραχος)

Rana graeca

Description:

The Greek stream frog or simply Greek frog (Rana graeca) is a species of frog in the Ranidae family found in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, and Turkey. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, temperate grassland, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater springs, and pastureland. It was a very shy frog which jumped in the water as soon as I came near him, and than I watched him diving away, in a small culvert in Othrys mountain, Greece.
