Mycena leaiana
Its cap is bell-shaped and bright orange when young, but the color fades as the mushroom matures. It has a dull orange stem with a sticky surface. The gills of are marginate. It tends to grow in clusters on the deadwood of hardwood trees.
Growing out of a rotting log in a swampy, deciduous forest. There were several different clusters on the same log.

Thanks Joseph! The color was so bright that I spotted them from quite a way off even though they were so small!
They almost look like they could glow in the dark! Cool spotting!
I wish I had a picture of the base of the stems! I have no idea if it was fuzzy, but the "fuzzy foot" mushrooms look so much like the ones I saw...But then again, so do the chanterelles. Hmm.
Thanks for your help and for the link Heather!
RE: My first comment about checking the blog page - you will have to scroll down about 2/3 of the page before you see the mushroom images.
Look at the images on this blog for "fuzzy foot" mushrooms & "chanterelle wax cap" mushrooms. They both look just like your picture, but you may be able to narrow it down if you remember the size and other details of your mushroom spotting.
