Description:

Body and wings are black; large white patch on forewing and red patch on hindwing; forewing has inconspicuous metallic shading. Wing Span: 2.2 - 2.7 cm A woodland day-flier, often mistaken for a butterfly.

Habitat:

Mexican plum blossoms in wooded portion of wildlife habitat yard above Lake Belton.
