Myrmeleon sp ?
Small antlion, with a compact abdomen bearing a boxed pattern on the dorsal surface, the face is dark with an intricate pattern of cream lines, thorax chalky grey.
attracted to lights
The genus Myrmeleon are considered to be the most primitive antlions and typically have unmarked wings except for the white spot towards the outer leading edge of each wing. This specimen, however, does have a few brown blotches on its wings but overall it fits the general features of Myrmeleon rather than any other common genus.
