Vulpes vulpes
Cross Fox (partially melanistic). They are pretty common here. This one looked like its coat was still in transition from winter to summer. It was very curious. I stopped my car because it was sitting in the road and it came closer to inspect my friend who got out to photograph it. I have noticed many of the foxes in the rural areas around here seem to be cautiously curious and don't just run away at the sight of people. It went to the side of the road and began to lick a rock, so it must've been trying to get some salt or minerals.
Rural road at night that receives very little traffic
