Description:

medium sized passerine, this photo is of the male and shows the white plumage with the long plume tail feathers. Black head and nape plus blue eye ring also exhibited by the female whose colour is predominately rufous brown. Insectivorous.

Habitat:

Seen in Berenty Reserve, South Madagascar, in the dry forest area.

Malcolm: I believe there is a brown male variant but I didn't see one on this trip. I'll be posting a picture of a female on the nest shortly.

Beautiful!

Seems to have more black on the back than the Asian White variant. Does this species have a brown male variant also?
