Blue-footed Booby

Description:

The Blue-footed Booby is a marine bird in the family Sulidae, which includes ten species of long-winged seabirds. Formally named taxonomically in the year Charles Darwin died, it belongs to the genus Sula, which comprises six species of boobies.

Notes:

Photographed on a small volcanic island off the coast of Mexico. This small breeding colony knows no natural predators and is fearless in the presence of humans.
