Great Ash Sphinx Moth (Larvae)

Sphinx chersis

Description:

The tomato hornworm is differentiated from the tobacco hormworm by the color of its 'horn' on it's rear. Tomato are black and Tobacco are pink

Notes:

A large garden pest my kitties found it and presented it to me. Possibly drawn to my garden by my flowers as it feeds upon the nightshade family. The tomatoes were untouched though.

Nice color! Markings and coloration are consistent with the larva of the Great Ash Sphinx.
