Moth

Plutodes sp.

Description:

Yellow with large chocolate coloured blob-like marks which are joined by thin strands of similar colour along the margins of the wings.

Habitat:

Roughly 7000 ft elevation. A few km away from the coordinates shown (Ravangla town, Sikkim). This moth was sitting on the ceiling of the entrance gate of the Ralang Monastery (Delsa Palchen Chosling Monastery), Sikkim. I had to bend my head backwards as far as possible and max out my zoom.

Notes:

I am not 100 per cent sure of the ID...please do correct me if I am wrong. ID based on a lookalike: http://indiabiodiversity.org/species/sho...
