Pipevine Swallowtail Caterpillar

Description:

Pipevine Swallowtail caterpillars have a black and red form. The black or red caterpillars feed on Aristolochia species, making them poisonous as both larvae and adults, while the adults feed on the nectar of a variety of flowers. They are gregarious and feed together until the last molt.

Habitat:

On Wooly Pipevine in a wildlife habitat garden.
