A subtropical, soft-stemmed evergreen shrub between 36 and 48 inches (90 and 120 cm) tall. (Wikipedia)

Habitat:

Tropical and subtropical forests of Peru, but can be found in many gardens in warm, moist climates.

Notes:

The specimen is located at the Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum, Tulsa, Oklahoma. -- The ants seen in the photograph appear to be members of the genius Monomorium. (Monomorium minimum?)
